First post

Greetings all,
Given that I am passionate about wine and will talk to anyone, anywhere, about wine, I have been encouraged by my wife and family to share my thoughts, questions, and observations about the world of wine.
Being lucky enough to have family in Europe, and visiting some of the wine growing regions there, I realize that the road of knowledge on wine will be a lifelong journey
This week I tried a bottle of Frei Brothers Reserve Cab. Sauv. 2007 Alexander Valley. It's on sale at the NH liquor stores, regular price is $23.99, this week it's $17.99. I've passed on buying before based on price, but this is a nice wine at a good price, I paired it with a grilled steak and home fries.
This wine has the flavors you look for in a California Cab. and enough tannins now that require something with a little fat for balance. This wine can handle some time in the cellar, perhaps up to 18 months but it will be hard to resist opening up a bottle if you have it on hand.
There is an additional 15% discount right now if you buy a case of it, this brings the price down to just over $15 bucks per bottle. Hmmmm
Cheers
